Abstract
Artuklu State, founded after the Turkish conquest of Anatolia, played an pivotal role in the turkification of eastern and southeastern Anatolia. The Danishmendis, another Turkish state founded at approximately thm same period, ruled and effected the turkification of the territories extending from the Black Sea region to the eastern Anatolia. Relations that established during the rules of Artuk Bey ve Danişmend Gazi strengthened during the invasion of the First Crusaders. Artuklu beys such as Belek Gazi, Fahreddin Kara Arslan, Necmeddin Alpı and Danişmendli rulers Emir Gazi, Melik Muhammed, Yağıbasan fostered the relations that lasted for about a century. Relations between these two Turkish states had, no doubt, important consequences for Anatolia.
