Abstract

The result of the botanical analysis of the samples taken from the wheat grains found at Karahöyük during the excavations of 1989 and dated to c. 1750 B.C. has shown that they belong to the species called tridicum dicocum. The article examines its occurrences in the cuneiform texts and the context in which it is used in order to gather information about it and its importance of wheat in that age.
