Abstract

Frit, faience and glass usage form the important part of the 2nd millennium BC culture in Aegean, Egypt, Mesopotamia and Anatolia. As both the archaeological and philological data show, especially during the Late Bronze Age, glass, faience and frit material were as important as to be the subject of the international letters of the upper class of the society and be important as raw materials in the service of the elite class. Apart from these, the workshops which were used for the production of these materials were found generally in the palace or in the places which were related with the palaces and their control were in the control of the palace. These confirm the place of frit, faience and glass between the valuable materials.
