Abstract

In Bulgaria, the data offered by the History Demographics is not accepted by the creators of the nationalistic rhetoric. Therefore, demographic data is ignored. Creation a history without an important source as demographic statistics is a common situation in the Balkan countries. The demographic statistics represent a source to Türk Tarih Kurumu 366 ABSTRACT highlight the ethnic cleaning made either by deportation or by death. In this study the percentage and total number of Muslim population forced to emigrate from Bulgaria to Turkey during and after the Balkan Wars will be examined through the population counts made after 1881 and some other publications of the Directorate of the Bulgarian Statistics. This study is carried out according to provinces and villages. This work, as time period covers the years between 1910 and 1920. The statistical data used in this study shows that the tragedy of the Muslims of Bulgaria during the Balkan Wars is an ethnic cleaning.
