The Significance of the Turkish Archives for the History of the Arab Lands

Abstract
Turkish Archives keep the records accumulated during almost the four-century long Ottoman rule on the Arab lands. Therefore, they shed light on an important period of the history of Arabs. A considerable portion of the Ottoman Archives is about the Arabs, an outcome of the fact that the Arab lands constituted a significant section of the Ottoman empire. Accompanied with some examples, this article introduces the registers and document collections in the Ottoman Archives relating the Arab lands.
