Abstract
This article is devoted to the works of the prerevolutionary Russian speaking authors of the second half of XVIII. century and the beginning of XX. century reflecting the history of the Kyrgyz people. The problems of the history of the Kyrgyz reflected in the works of Russian travelers, the military orientalists, the representatives of the colonial administration have been mentioned. The newspaper called "Turkestanskie Vedomosti" and multivolume publication "Turkestanskiy Sbornik" had important historical meaning of those times. These newspapers reflected political and socio-economic positions of the Kyrgyz in the considered epoch.
